It's almost a month into 2016 and I can't believe my last blog entry was posted last year! Well, with the month coming to an end in a week's time, I thought I'd do a monthly recap of the things that I loved this month.
These items weren't only from January as I've had some of them for probably a few months (or almost a year even), but I found myself using these items often for the past month so... here goes!
Victoria's Secret Angel Gold Eau de Parfum
To be honest, I've always thought Victoria's Secret fragrances were too overwhelming and I have to admit, that judgement was based on the fragrances I inhaled whenever I walked past local Victoria's Secret outlets. When Victoria's Secret sent me some fragrances from their Angel Collection, I took an instant liking to Angel Gold (pictured above). I have been using it daily and it's one of my favorite fragrances now.
Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-texturizinG Serum Concentrate
I know, I know — I had previously raved about this serum from Kiehl's in my last Monthly Favorites post back in July. It's almost been half a year since then and I still am pretty much in love with this product. My skin has never been so hydrated, and I haven't had dry peeling spots since. I've been using this together with the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion and I think these two products worked hand in hand, contributing to my now well-hydrated skin.
The Skin Pharmacy Total Care Intensive Repair Eye Gel
Never been a believer of eye creams or gels, but this product changed my beliefs. Over the last half a year or so of using this product, the condition of my eye bags have tremendously improved. It took me a while to notice the difference, but it is indeed noticeable! If you scroll back to my old photos on Instagram, you would've noticed that my eye bags and dark eye rings were quite bad and it made my skin look dull in general. Now that they've improved, my skin looks a lot brighter without the annoying dark eye rings.
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
I have read a lot of good reviews about this eyelash curler with claims that it made previously non-visible eyelashes long and fluttery. My initial thoughts were "How is it even possible? If your lashes are short, they will always be short!" And since it was priced pretty hefty in Singapore, I never thought of giving this eyelash curler a try. Chancing it in Hong Kong at about SGD10 cheaper, I thought I should just buy it because heck, my droopy eyelashes need these. And the results — long, curly eyelashes indeed!
The Paper Bunny 2016 Planner
Anyone who knows me knows I'm pretty much obsessed with marble prints. When I saw on Instagram that these 2016 planners were to be launched, I camped on the website and bought one almost immediately. I have been using my planner a lot more often than I did in previous years, and I genuinely hope I can note down lots of events, happenings and memories through the year.
Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner
I really like using pencil liners to line my waterline, and I've been in search for a good, waterproof and smudge-proof pencil liner to replace my Benefit one (which is pretty expensive, to be honest). While browsing popular cosmetics e-store Althea, I saw these that were on sale for around SGD6. Of course I couldn't give these a miss since it's so affordable! I micro-blogged about this eyeliner and other products from Althea on my Dayre — read if you're keen!
Monki Cia Card Case
Monki's hands down my favorite brand ever. How I wish they had a Monki store in Singapore! I'd usually get my Monki loots from ASOS, but a recent trip to Hong Kong had me prancing around the store in Langham Place! A pity it was during the winter season and they sold mostly knits, so I got a couple of tops and accessories, including this card case that I love to bits. It's in a lovely shade of coppery rose gold, and has 4 card slots.
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask
Gifted by the lovely people at Fresh a while back, I thought I'd give this a try since I've read a number of good reviews on how this product makes one's skin soft and smooth, and they were absolutely right. I've been using this mask quite often, and it has consistency similar to that of a mashed potato's. Also, it has this nice scent to it that smells really familiar but I just can't put a finger on it. This is a perfect day mask to have before your daily make up routine as it's refreshing and allows for better application of make up.
Yankee Candle in Midsummer's Night
I just got this a while ago and I really love the scent! It's slightly similar to the scent of the Abercrombie and Fitch store - just not as overpowering. I'm very particular about scents as they can trigger my migraine, but this has been nothing short of amazing, and it's an absolute favorite!
